Redmoor set for ‘largest’ drilling campaign in Britain

Strategic Minerals plc has received permission for the “largest, single drilling programme” this century in Great Britain, at its Redmoor tungsten-tin-copper project in southeast Cornwall.

The company’s subsidiary Cornwall Resources Ltd, which is already carrying out infill drilling, will expand its operations to 22,500 metres for 44 drill holes.

Drilling will involve a further two rigs, with the option of a third, for up to three years’ drilling, although Strategic expects to complete the campaign during the second quarter of 2027.

Operations aim to advance Redmoor resource to an indicated category and through pre-feasibility/feasibility studies “as effectively and quickly as possible”.

The company also continues to recruit additional team members to its team.

Cornwall Resources managing director Dennis Rowland said: “We expect therefore to have all three drill rigs operating and advancing our ambitious and large-scale drilling programme as soon as possible, with all efforts made to ensure a quick turnaround of final approvals.”

“It is positive to see the drilling from Rig 1 advancing well, with further complete intersections of the SVS [sheeted vein system].

“CRD044 also intersected the top of the Kit Hill granite, at depth, entering a roof zone complex of granite and aplite sheets, with the aplite sheets being co-related to mineralised vein structures containing cassiterite (tin) and chalcopyrite (copper), supporting the hypothesis that the mineralisation continues at depth into the granite.”
