Anglesey finance director Danesh Varma resigns

Anglesey Mining plc’s finance director and company secretary Danesh Varma has resigned with immediate effect.

Companies House states Mr Varma’s appointment as finance director began on 1 August 2013.

Interim chairman Andrew King said: “On behalf of the board of Anglesey, I would like to thank Danesh for his significant contribution and service to the company over many years and we wish him well in his future endeavours.”

Mr Varma’s departure follows chairman John Kearney‘s resignation last month after shareholders voted against his reappointment.

During the same general meeting Mr Varma received 174,684,075 votes in support, 557,160 against and 21,607,116 withheld.

He becomes the third board member to leave Anglesey Mining after chief executive officer Jonathan Battershill announced in October he would begin a new position from 1 January 2024.
