Oriole returns multiple gold intersects at Mbe South

Oriole Resources plc has returned 30 gold mineralisations in the first three holes of its 2,500-metre step-out diamond drilling at the Mbe South orogenic gold deposit in central Cameroon.

Revised: mineral resource estimate is due during early Q3 this year (Pixabay)

Results from MB01-S included 1.00m at 59.00 grammes per tonne gold from 58.40m in drill hole MBDD041.

Hole MBDD040 showed 3.00m at 2.82g/t gold from 214.60m, including 1.00m at 7.38g/t gold, while MBDD042 returned 1.00m at 2.53g/t gold from 134.10m.

Oriole said that hole MBDD040, the most northern hole drilled to date at MB01-S, had extended the strike length of the system by a further 100m to approximately 600m

MBDD041, located 100m to the south of MBDD040, had confirmed the northeastern extension of previously reported high-grade mineralisation.

Operations, which began in March, are now approximately 70% through the drilling programme.

On completion of the 10 holes in the overall campaign, a revised mineral resource estimate will be prepared for MB01-S, expected during in the early part of the third quarter this year.

Chief executive officer Martin Rosser added: “The initial assay results for a new drilling programme are always eagerly awaited and we are extremely pleased with those from MB01-S.

“They encompass thirty mineralised gold intersections and show good mineralised widths, plus a narrow high-grade intersection, as seen in previous results, and have extended the mineralisation strike length at the deposit by some 20 per cent. to around 600m.”

Mbe lies contiguous with the Eastern Central Licence Package, which includes the Tenekou, Pokor, Ndom and Niambaram licences where early-stage exploration is underway.
