Union Jack Oil plc has appointed Donald Zac Phillips and John Americanos, both known to the company for many years, as non-executive directors to the board, with immediate effect.
The company also announced that Craig Howie’s office as a director of the company “has been vacated by a resolution of the board with immediate effect”.
Dr Phillips, who will be a senior independent NED, qualified as a chemical and petroleum engineer and is a senior energy executive and advisor in the oil and gas sector.
He advises on asset evaluation, project development and corporate strategy to investment banks, through his company Oil and Gas Advisors Ltd.
Dr Phillips previously worked for companies such as BP, Chevron, DB Petroleum, Merrill Lynch and ING Barings, and is currently a director of TomCo plc.
He holds a Masters in Petroleum Engineering and a PhD in Chemical Engineering, and is a Member of the Institute of Chemical Engineers, the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.
Union Jack said that Dr Phillips had been providing the company with independent evaluation support for a number of years.
Mr Americanos is a Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) and a founder and director of John Alexander Ltd, which provides accountancy services to businesses and sole traders.
He also has significant experience in UK and international property development.
Mr Americanos holds 7,228,222 ordinary shares in Union Jack, representing 4.93% of its issued share capital.
Union Jack holds interests onshore UK, notably the Wressle oil field, and Oklahoma in the USA.
