Strategic Minerals plc has expanded its current infill drilling programme, from 16,000 metres to 22,500m, following strong results at its Redmoor tungsten-tin-copper project in southeast Cornwall.

The company’s subsidiary Cornwall Resources Ltd has to date completed the first of seven holes and started the second on 7 May.
Strategic said that initial hole CRD042 had intersected the “full thickness” of the Redmoor sheeted vein system.
A long intersection contained “multiple wolframite (tungsten), cassiterite (tin) and chalcopyrite (copper) mineralised structures typical of the SVS deposit”, with mineralisation identified north of the SVS.
The drill hole was also extended from its original planned depth, to the south of the SVS, due to the continuation of mineralised structures.
CRD042 core samples have been sent to Ireland for analysis.
The programme will use the £4m raised in January to complete most of the 16,000 infill drilling at Redmoor for a prefeasibility study, which is funded by the £4.7m raised in March.
The company’s expanded campaign will use an additional two rigs from Priority Drilling UK Ltd, subject to planning approval.
Strategic executive director Mark Burnett added: “The newly expanded infill and expansion drilling programme, alongside data and sample collection for feasibility study components, is well underway and expected to shift into a new gear upon successful completion of the permitting process.
“The Redmoor team is expanding, with new geologists and supporting team members joining the programme to ensure high quality delivery at pace in order to advance Europe’s highest-grade, undeveloped, tungsten resource.”
