Power Metal Resources plc has defined five named anomalies from gravimetry geophysical survey results and fieldwork over the Al Mansur prospect at Block 8 in the Hazm area, northwest Oman.

The company’s subsidiary Power Arabia is undertaking exploration work as part of an earn-in agreement for a 12.5% stake in the project held by Alara Resources Ltd and Awtad Copper LLC.
The survey aimed to help define targets from copper mineralisation identified by historical rock chip sampling and Power Arabia’s trenching work from which assay results are pending.
The anomalies comprise H1, H2, I1, L1 and L2.
H1 is a “very strong north-south orientated residual anomaly” possibly “associated with potential volcanogenic massive sulphide mineralisation”.
“The H1 target currently measures some 400m long and at least 10-15m wide and is open along strike to the north,” said Power Metal.
“To the south it appears to be cut off by a northwest southeast trending fault structure.”
The company has commissioned an extension of the gravity survey grid to the north to delineate the full extent of H1.
Power Arabia also took a further 210 ionic leach samples over areas covered by the gravimetric survey, and went to 765 field locations to verify outcrops.
