Hummingbird Resources plc has appointed Anthony Kocken as chief operating officer.
The miner has also appointed Luke Main as its group people and performance officer.
Anthony Kocken has more than 23 years operational and senior management expertise, predominantly working on African projects.
He has spent 18 years in various managerial positions, including COO for African Mining Services (one of the largest mining contractors in Africa ), COO and general manager at the Bisha Share Mining Company which owns the Bisha mine in Eritrea (gold, copper, silver and zinc mine).
Mr Kocken was also COO and operations director at Mirabela Mineração do Brasil which owns the Santa Rita open pit nickel sulphide mine.
He has also held various senior operational positions for Xstrata Zinc (now Glencore) as general manager of mining for all open pits and underground with a major part of his past 15 years focused on site operation improvements.
