Helium One Global Ltd has confirmed free gas from wireline logs in the Jackson-27 well at the Galactica project in Las Animas County, Colorado, USA.
QUALITY
Joint venture partner Blue Star Helium drilled to a total depth of 1,183ft (360m), with the well following naturally during drilling, showing good reservoir communication at total depth and no water.
Helium One said that the well encountered 60ft gross pay of high-quality, gas-saturated sands in the target Upper Lyons Sandstone formation.
Samples have been sent for analysis while the well head is being installed before surface pressure readings and flow testing.
The rig will soon be mobilised to the well pad location for the programme’s fifth well Jackson-2 L4 3154.
Chief executive officer Lorna Blaisse added: “Jackson-27 is the fourth well in this development drilling campaign and we are pleased with the results to date.
“Seeing these wells perform consistently, with good flow rates and helium concentrations, supports strong reservoir connectivity and excellent reservoir quality in the Lyons Sandstone formation across the Galactica project.
“We look forward to continuing this drilling campaign with Blue Star as we advance towards production.”
