Guardian finds more high-grade zones at Garfield

Guardian Metal Resources plc has revealed more zones of “high-grade gold, silver and copper mineralisation” from surface sampling at its Garfield project in the Walker Lane mineral belt, Nevada, USA.

Further: geophysical surveys in other areas, such as the Pamlico zone (Pixabay)

The property contains two large, “deep-seated intrusive/magnetic bodies” at the High-Grade and Power Line zones, which extend for more than 800 metres.

Results of rock chip samples from Power Line include 18.3 g/t gold and 43.6 g/t silver as well as 14% copper and 145g/t silver.

The company has also staked 42 additional claims over the Freeze North zone which, along with the Freeze East zone, underwent an induced polarisation geophysical survey.

Results from Freeze North showed “compelling drill targets” under alluvial cover, extending at least 500m eastwards and directly along strike from historic high-grade gold-silver underground mine workings.

Chief executive officer Oliver Friesen said that Guardian was “very encouraged by the expanding scale of the epithermal system” at Garfield.

“High-grade rock chip assay results from the Power Line zone, combined with the mapping completed, has revealed a much larger alteration footprint than previously recognised.

“This work has led to the staking of the new Freeze North zone, extending the trend to more than 4km in strike, and to the definition of compelling drill targets at the Freeze East and Freeze zones.”

The company is considering further geophysical surveys in other areas, such as the Pamlico zone in the south of the property.

Guardian’s principal project is the Pilot Mountain and Tempiute mine and mill tungsten projects.

Original parent, Power Metal Resources plc, reclaimed an interest in Guardian with a £4 million subscription in new mining royalty firm Apex

Sunrise Resources plc, which sold Garfield and the currently on-hold Stonewall gold-silver project to Power Metal, retains a 2% net smelter royalty interest in each of the projects.
