Cornwall Resources Ltd’s first drill hole has met its expectations with “notable” mineralised intersections at its Redmoor tungsten-tin-copper project in Kelly Bray.

The findings are the first from a current nine-borehole drill programme for 5,300 metres of new diamond core drilling.
The company completed borehole CRD033, “unique” in the campaign, to 600.4m before geological logging.
Samples were taken from the top 300m and sent for assay to Ireland.
The second batch of samples from the lower 300m, which contains the “bulk of the mineralised zones” within the borehole, are due to follow.
“The borehole was planned as a twin hole to one of the 35 historic boreholes drilled in the 1980s at Redmoor by Southwest Minerals Limited,” said newly appointed managing director Dennis Rowland, previously project manager.
“Geological logging and cross-hole correlation show that key intersections are consistent across the closely spaced holes and that mineralisation is present where predicted.
“This borehole twinning process is aimed at strengthening the Redmoor mineral resource estimate, and providing more data, as part of the planned MRE [mineral resource estimate] update.
“The borehole intersected the Redmoor sheeted vein system, and notable mineralised intersections have been recorded, containing wolframite and other minerals.”
The second borehole CRD034b has undergone more than 550m downhole drilling, with a further 150m yet to drill.
After completion of three boreholes at the site, the rig will move to the second drilling pad.
A second rig is expected to join operations for up to a further three months, with completion due December 2025.
Combined data from drilling and Cornwall Resources’ relogging and sampling programme will support a new JORC (2012) compliant MRE for Redmoor, expected during Q1 2026.
COMPANY MOVES
In addition to Mr Rowland’s new position, parent company Strategic Minerals plc has also promoted senior geologist Rowan Thorne to exploration manager.
He and Mr Rowland will manage the geological team and its projects.
Both will take responsibility for the drilling programme, the MRE, a revised economic model and to explore potential for growth within Cornwall Resources’ licences.
