Cornwall Resources Ltd (CRL) must wait longer to hear from its application for government funding for the Redmoor tin-tungsten project in the east of the county.

The company had hoped to receive an answer during March 2023 but the assessment body is continuing to review applications with final review now expected during June.
“CRL has supplied additional information which was recently requested and continues to respond to any further queries,” added the company in its Q1 report.
“Currently, the company considers it will be informed of whether it is successful in receiving grant funding in the September quarter.”
CRL submitted its application to Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Council in December 2022.
The company said Redmoor would likely benefit from central funding because it fell within the UK critical minerals strategy and would create employment.
East Cornwall is also expected to benefit from the Government’s ‘levelling up’ policy.
During the first quarter of the year, CRL also scanned more than 400m of existing drill core from previously reported borehole CRD032.
“Initial analysis highlights areas of interest within the borehole section, outside of the existing resource, for follow up and further investigation.
“This has the potential to expand the inferred resource without additional drilling.”
DEEP DIGITAL CORNWALL
CRL additionally continued activities for the £4 million Deep Digital Cornwall (DDC) geological project to gather new geochemical and geophysical data for a new centre in the county.
During March, an aerial survey over Redmoor collected electromagnetic and magnetic data, with initial processed data expected during Q2.
CRL continues DDC soil sampling across its licence with 500 soil samples shipped to testing laboratories in Ireland, to be followed by a final set during Q2.
