Conroy Gold and Natural Resources plc said it had intersected the deepest gold mineralisation to date, in the first hole of 2,000 metres deep drilling, at Clontibret in Co. Monaghan, Ireland.

Today’s results from drill hole CGC-25-001 include 2.8m at 4.5 grams per ton gold intersected, including 0.5m at 15.0 g/t gold.
The company said that the drill hole had intersected more than 10 gold lodes, and extended lodes by up to 60m to the north.
The gold system remains open to depth.
Conroy last week reported that the drill hole had reached within a gold mineralised zone before it was stopped due to technical difficulties.
The company is drilling a new deep drill hole, CGC-25-007, to target the stockwork zone at depth.
Clontibret anchors two parallel district-scale gold trends of Orlock Bridge and Skullmartin, named the Discs of Gold project, which extend over some 95km.
