Conroy Gold and Natural Resources plc has started phase II drilling which will test the Orlock Bridge Fault extension, from Clay Lake in Co. Armagh towards Clontibret in Co. Monaghan.
STOCKWORK
The company previously interpreted a structural trend between the broad gold-bearing stockwork zones at Clay Lake and the stockwork zone in Clontibret, which has similar intersections.
Both targets remain open in all directions and at depth.
The work aims to evaluate the continuity and scale of the Orlock Bridge Fault and to establish further the trend of the Clay Lake stockwork, which will contribute to an eventual resource estimate for Clay Lake.
Phase II follows completion of phase I, using three rigs for five drill holes, at Clontibret which returned “strongly encouraging”assays.
Published results indicated continuity along strike and at depth, identified a significant Buddingtonite alteration zone, and increasing confidence in continuity between Clontibret and the Corcaskea target
The company said it now had an understanding of mineralisation at depth and greater understanding of the central zone lodes associated with the historic Tullybuck antimony mine.
The phase I programme also strengthened Conroy’s interpretation of a “large, structurally controlled gold system” that remains open in all directions.
Further phase I assays are pending.
The company also continues to progress its dual listing on the TSX-Venture Exchange in Canada and discussions with prospective strategic and financial investors.
