Botswana Diamonds plc has changed its name to Botswana Minerals plc, to reflect its broadening portfolio in Africa.

In January, the company added eight copper licences to its original interests, after an advanced artificial intelligence model identified “outstanding” results, including 11 copper target areas.
Botswana next plans to prioritise drill targets across its copper portfolio.
“Copper has a strong long-term outlook, driven by its critical role in electrification and the global green energy transition,” said the company.
“Botswana is rapidly emerging as a significant copper producer and remains an exploration-friendly jurisdiction.”
Chairman John Teeling added that there was “strong” interest in the new licences.
