Tungsten West appoints new director

Tungsten West plc has appointed Katherine Callaghan as a non-executive director to the board and chair of the remuneration committee, with immediate effect.

The appointment comes as the company nears the restart of its Hemerdon tungsten-tin mine northeast of Plymouth in Devon.

Ms Callaghan is an experienced NED and senior human resources executive with board, governance and leadership experience across the engineering, manufacturing, aerospace and defence sectors.

She is currently a NED and chair of the remuneration committee (RC) of High Value Manufacturing Catapult and RLC Aerospace, and previously held the same positions at Epwin Group plc.

Prior to this, Ms Callaghan had senior executive roles as Group HR director at engineering and manufacturing group Rotork plc and a number of senior global HR leadership positions with Dyson.

Ms Callaghan has led large-scale organisational transformation, succession planning and senior executive recruitment, supported M&A and business integrations and advised boards on remuneration, culture and workforce engagement.

She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
