INNOVATIVE

The four-well subsea tie-back project re-uses existing facilities on the Heron pipeline hosted by the BP’s 25-year-old operated eastern tough area project central processing facility in the central North Sea.

Project partners comprise Neptune (35%), BP Exploration (operator 50%) and JAPEX UK E&P (15%)

Neptune projects that Seagull, where development began during 2019, holds 19.0 mmboe net 2P reserves.

UK country director, Alan Muirhead, said: “As the operator of the project, Seagull is an excellent example of what can be achieved through close collaboration.

“From the beginning, the partners have taken an innovative approach to ensure we can collectively maximise the recovery of domestic energy resources while extending the life of existing subsea infrastructure to reduce development costs.”
