Kavango Resources plc is preparing final targets for a follow-up drilling programme at the 6,200km2 Karakubis copper project in the Kalahari copper belt, Botswana.

The company is targeting large-scale copper-silver mineralisation within the acreage of contiguous licences located on the border with Namibia
Completion of a six-month ground geophysical programme, working with First Quantum Minerals Ltd, has produced additional data from a section line over FQM’s 1,266.40m “mineral systems exploration hole”.
“This has provided Kavango with access to important drill core, across the key target horizon for copper-silver mineralisation in the KCB,” said the company.
“Such physical data acts as a crucial control for interpretation of geophysical survey data to identify higher-confidence drill targets.”
Chief executive Ben Turney added that Kavango was using “sophisticated targeting techniques” with “promising” results.
“The geophysics is allowing us to develop further our understanding of previous drill results.
“New interpretations are developing answers to a variety of key questions on the structural architecture and potential for the southern margin of the KCB to host large tier-1 deposits.
“Results from this important phase of work will be used to refine our geophysics-driven targeting strategy.”
