JOG submits CSR and draws interests for GBA farm-out

Jersey Oil & Gas plc (JOG) said it has submitted its concept select report (CSR) to the Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) for the Greater Buchan Area (GBA) in the UK North Sea.

Position: JOG says its location in the North Sea has the potential for it to enable regional electrification (Jersey Oil & Gas)

The company has also submitted its supply chain action plan (SCAP) to establish an open and honest relationship with all contractors and suppliers. It has also adopted the Government’s Prompt Payment Code (PPC).

JOG’s other areas of progress include applying for UK electricity grid connection and pipeline to National Grid and Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission, and awarding the subsea electricity cable survey contract.

The company noted that its location in the North Sea had the potential for it to enable regional electrification.

Options for export pipelines are currently being evaluated and tendering continues for the Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED).

JOG has also applied to the OGA to be appointed OSD installation operator.

The company added that the farm-out process was underway with broad interest and participation from multiple parties.

CONCEPT SELECT REPORT

JOG has previously stated it preferred full electrification estimated to emit carbon at less than 1kg of CO2 per barrel of oil equivalent (boe) produced. This is notably less than the North Sea average of 22kg of CO2/boe.

The selected concept for the GBA development is planned for three phases.

Phase 1 will deliver a single integrated wellhead, production, utilities and quarters (WPUQ) platform located at the Buchan field.

Phase 2 will develop the J2 West, J2 East and Verbier East discoveries via a subsea tie-back to the GBA platform.

Phase 3 will develop the Verbier West discovery, via connection to the Phase 2 subsea infrastructure.

“The submission of the Concept Select Report to the OGA represents a significant milestone for JOG in our journey to deliver maximum value from the Greater Buchan Area,” said chief executive Andrew Benitz.

“The submission of the CSR ahead of schedule is testament to the growing project team’s continued hard work.”
