i3 Energy plc said that drilling would start later this week on the SA-02 appraisal well in P2358, block 13/23c, containing the Serenity discovery, in the Outer Moray Firth.

The operator holds a 75% working interest in the field and Europa Oil & Gas (Holdings) plc owns 25%.
OPERATIONS
“The well is designed to prove the extension of the reservoir to the west of the discovery well 13/23c-10 and so prove up additional hydrocarbon volumes in place,” said chief executive Majid Shafiq.
“This will enable optimisation of any necessary further appraisal and a development plan for the field.”
i3 added that the Stena Don semi-submersible drilling unit was on location and that the drilling programme was expected to last some 30 days.
