Helium One Global Ltd has spudded the Jackson-2 development well at the Galactica helium project in Las Animas, Colorado, USA.

FARM-IN
Operator Blue Star Helium is currently preparing to drill the through the intermediate hole section in the joint venture’s fifth well.
The well is targeting the Lyons Sandstone formation, with total depth planned within the Upper Lyons formation gas reservoir.
Once completed Jackson-2 is expected to be tied-in to production facilities.
Jackson-27, spudded on 25 April, is also reported to have flowed naturally during drilling and reached total depth at 1,183 ft within the Upper Lyons, with no water.
Wireline logs have confirmed the penetrated Lyons Sandstone formation to be high-quality and gas saturated.
Helium One said that since total depth, the flow rate has increased to more than 320 thousand cubic feet per day (Mcfd).
Projected stabilised flow rates are 350 Mcfd to 450 Mcfd with a maximum potential rate of 550 Mcfd.
Early samples have returned helium concentration of up to 0.41% (air-corrected) and 98.31% CO2.
The company holds a 50% interest and is farming in to the project for a US$450,000 spend.
Galactica is part of the wider Galactica-Pegasus development, discovered by Blue Star in 2022.
Helium One’s flagship project is in the Southern Rukwa Basin, Tanzania.
