First Development Resources plc has applied for three new exploration licences in the Paterson Province of Western Australia.

The licences, E45/7205, E45/7206 and E45/7207 are immediately to the east of the company’s existing Wallal licences.
First Development said that the new sites cover ground previously held by Rio Tinto Exploration.
The applications have yet received no objections and are currently under assessment by the Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration in Western Australia.
The company is also in talks with relevant Traditional Owner groups, as part of the Aboriginal Heritage Act and Native Title Act consultation process, to ensure that exploration respects cultural heritage.
First Development currently holds copper-gold interests in Western Australia and uranium and rare-earth elements in the Northern Territory.
The company was a spin-out from Power Metal Resources plc, which remains the largest shareholder with a 33.04% interest as at 20 January 2026.
