Cornish Metals plc reported multiple tin intersects and mineralised extensions from the first surface diamond drill hole in the Roskear area of the South Crofty mine in the village of Pool, Cornwall.

The overall programme, of two holes for 2,400 metres, aims to test extensions to known mineralisation and evaluate several priority exploration targets.
Completed hole SDD26_001A reached a final depth of 1,199.1 metres, with assays returning tin mineralisation across “multiple” intercepts, including mineralised structures outside the current mineral resource estimate.
The company said that the results showed high-grade tin intersections, including 0.79 metres at 4.18% tin at Roskear 1 South, and 0.30m at 2.20% tin at Roskear 3 North.
Drilling also intersected a broad 12.41m zone grading 0.43% tin in the Roskear Numbered Zone, including 1.90m at 1.32% tin.
Intercepts at two previously unknown lodes and the Roskear Numbered Zone structures lie outside the current MRE, where mineralisation continues to the west.
The Numbered Zone comprises a group of historic, mineralised tin and copper structures.
Cornish Metals has drilled halfway of the planned depth of the second drill hole, which is located 100m west of the first.
Chief geologist Lauren Beveridge added that the results were consistent with the company’s geological interpretation.
“The results confirm the Roskear area as a high-quality exploration target with clear potential to add to our mineral resources.
“In addition, it provides additional confidence in our assumptions regarding resource replacement across South Crofty, which has the potential to significantly extend the life of mine.”
