Breedon acquires family firm Robinson Quarry Masters in Co. Antrim

Breedon Group plc has acquired Robinson Quarry Masters Ltd, a three-generation, family-run quarrying and concrete block company in Glenwherry, Co. Antrim in Northern Ireland.

FOOTPRINT

In business for more than 45 years, Robinson has 35 staff operating from a 150-acre site serviced by its own transport fleet.

The company serves the agriculture, marine, leisure, housing, sport, education and utilities sectors.

Breedon said that the purchase further extended its own footprint north of Belfast, with Robinson’s well-established customer base.

The acquisition is in addition to two downstream businesses of Broome Bros. Ltd and Minster Surfacing Ltd for a total enterprise value of up to c.£19 million.

OPERATING MODEL

Chief executive officer Ron Wood added that Breedon had reached many of its transactions through local knowledge and personal engagement with the owners.
