Anglesey Mining appoints Robert Marsden as CEO

Anglesey Mining plc has appointed Robert (Rob) Marsden to the board as chief executive officer, with effect from 1 May 2024.


 
Mr Marsden, who replaces Jonathan Battershill, is a mining engineer with 29 years’ experience in commodities including copper, diamonds, gold, silver, coal, industrial minerals and iron ore.

He has worked in Australia, Botswana, Brazil, Chile, Canada, Ghana, Madagascar, Peru, South Africa and Zimbabwe.    

After graduating in 1995 from the Camborne School of Mines, Mr Marsden joined Rio Tinto plc and over 18 years held technical, operational and management roles in South Africa, Australia, France and the USA.

He was latterly employed in the business evaluation department at Rio Tinto’s head office in London.

In 2013 Mr Marsden founded his own UK-based consultancy Marsden Gray, offering insights into the planning, operation and evaluation of mining projects.

He is a Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM), qualified for mineral reporting (by IOM), and is a Fellow of the Geological Society (London) and an Associate of the Camborne School of Mines.

Mr Marsden currently holds 251,103 ordinary shares in Anglesey.
