Anglesey Mining plc has identified four target areas for follow-up exploration following recent analysis results at Parys Mountain copper-zinc-lead-silver-gold deposit in North Wales.
At the end of May, the company employed Satellite Applications Catapult to undertake a preliminary geospatial study to locate possible volcanogenic massive sulphide extensions in and around the site.
Catapult also worked with the BGS to use non-intrusive methods to provide indications of subsurface geology and to assess the potential for additional exploration targets.
“The BGS identified four areas of interest where combinations of geological, geophysical and Earth observation datasets further justify additional exploration,” said Anglesey.
“The highlighted areas broadly align, as expected, with those already identified in the company’s ongoing technical reviews, providing additional data to support the analysis and further de-risk costly exploration at Parys Mountain.”
The company describes Parys as the UK’s largest polymetallic volcanic mssive sulphide project, with JORC-compliant mineral resource in excess of 16 million tonnes.
