Altona Rare Earths plc non-executive chairman Simon Charles will step down after two years in the post, with effect from 31 October 2025.

Chief executive officer Cédric Simonet said: “On behalf of the board and the executive team, I want to extend our deepest thanks to Simon for his dedicated service to Altona, during which the company established itself as a critical raw materials company on the main market of the London Stock Exchange and started to implement its diversification strategy.
“We wish Simon the very best in his future endeavours.”
Mr Charles’ successor from 1 November is Harvey Sinclair.
Currently CEO of digital energy services eEnergy plc, Mr Sinclair has held non-executive roles in various industries and businesses, including lighting technology firm Design LED.
He is also a director and trustee of non-governmental organisation Wild Tomorrow, which is involved in creating a wildlife corridor in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
Altona’s projects comprise rare earth elements-fluorspar-gallium exploration at Monte Muambe in Mozambique and Sesana copper-silver in Botswana.
