The company began with gold assets, including the historic mines of Clogau-St David’s and Gwynfynydd as well as the wider Dolgellau Gold Belt in North Wales.

It has since added Greenland graphite and ilmenite, now held by spinout GreenRoc Strategic Minerals plc, Finnsbo rare earth elements in Sweden and a majority stake in Motzfeldt “critical metals”, also in Greenland.

“The renaming of the company to Arkadian Strategic Metals Plc marks a clear statement of intent,” said executive chairman George Frangeskides.

“Global supply chains for critical and strategic metals are undergoing structural change, with governments and industry increasingly focused on securing reliable, Western-aligned sources of supply.

“Our strategic metal assets, particularly at Motzfeldt in Greenland, position us within this emerging strategic landscape.

“At the same time, we remain committed to Clogau-St David’s and our other Welsh gold assets, which continue to represent an important and distinctive part of our portfolio.”
