Alba Mineral Resources plc has engaged Vivien Johnston Glass FRSA as specialist ‘mine-to-market’ supply chain consultant for refined gold products.

Ms Glass has more than 20 years’ experience in the jewellery industry and is an expert in responsible sourcing of precious metals, diamonds and gems.

She formerly worked for Scotgold Resources (2011-2022) from the planning stage to commercial production, including the negotiation of premiums.

This involved placing 100% of gravity gold production, creating a chain of custody process, coordinating the marketing and auction of investment gold, and building a route-to-market for alloyed gravity gold for the fine jewellery market.

Ms Glass founded her own brand in 2006 promoting positive ethics in mining and jewellery using materials exclusively from traceable and ethical sources.

Since then, she has been a consultant for major luxury jewellery houses, independent brands, diamond producers, junior mining companies, manufacturers and international brand agencies.

In 2021 Ms Glass launched her own boutique consultancy, Johnston Resources.

She was also former head of design for a commercial jewellery design brand.

Ms Glass was the chair of the Jewellery Ethics Committee UK and Ireland between 2011 and 2015 and ethics manager for the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (2013-16).

She has a degree in Silversmithing and Jewellery from the Glasgow School of Art and is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
