Alba Mineral Resources plc has completed phase I testwork on the 300kg sample from the Aries deposit, at the Motzfeldt rare earth elements-niobium-tantalum-zirconium project in Gardar Provice, southern Greenland.
PROCESSING
The commissioned work at specialist facilities in South Africa, used laboratory scan QEMSCAN, to determine which minerals, and how they are combined, are in the rock.
The company said: “The next phases now move into separation testing, starting with gravity and magnetic methods (and flotation where appropriate), to assess how best to concentrate the target minerals ahead of further processing, providing an evidence led basis for next steps.”
Alba, which now holds a 51% stake in Motzfeldt, states that Aries contains a JORC-compliant inferred resource of 340 million tonnes.
